November 2024

Welcome to the start of my front-end dev journey!

For this first project, I focused on keeping it simple, clean, and lightweight, using pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Looking forward to many more projects to come!

The Hyperscooter

2022-2024

A road-legal 70 mph electric scooter.

For the fun of it! Over the past two years, Eli and I have collaborated to design and build a one-of-a-kind vehicle with truly unique dynamics.

  • 200 lb vehicle weight
  • 3x lower center of gravity compared to a motorcycle, allowing 9x faster corner transitions
  • Custom linkage fork for exceptional stability at high speeds
  • 14.5 kW peak power
  • 52-degree maximum lean angle
  • Has a VIN and plates.

VibeGrips

2023-present

No more hand pain for mountain bikers.

We’ve been testing prototypes for the past eight months and have proven a 40% reduction in hand pain by minimizing vibrations. Testing our first production version this spring. Now in round two of the Notre Dame New Venture McCloskey Competition.

Vibe

Stair Climbing Robot

Spring 2023

2.5 steps/second

Another great class project.

Climber

Autonomous Grocery Store Design

Spring 2022

Worked as design engineer in 5-person student team

Designed, prototyped, and co-pitched an RFID-enabled autonomous grocery store for the 2022 McCloskey Pitch Competition, earning a $10,000 award for further development. Reflecting, there was no product-market fit and not nearly enough talking to potential customers. This experience taught me the importance of validating problems before diving into engineering solutions, inspiring me to broaden my skillset outside of engineering.

Collapsible standing desk attachment

Fall 2022

Carried 50x its weight

Look at Eli smiling. Best mechanical engineer I know. Truly a pleasure working on Impulse3D, Vibegrips, and the Hyperscooter with him.

2022 Ride Engineering Competition, Second Place

Spring 2021

TEA@ND

Led the mechanical design and manufacturing of mechanical systems for a model ride for the ISU Ride Engineering Competition. The ride ran for the full 8-hour competition without failure. At right, is the differential gearbox integral to the ride’s twisting motion.

A few of my favorite pre-college projects below this point

Reverse-engineering unreleased rollercoaster

Senior Spring of HS

...and learning rendering in Blender

Given a patent for only the seat design, I extrapolated the firm’s design methodology to model a full train carriage. Got decently close.

Surfcoaster

Backyard Rollercoaster

Summer after 4th grade

Someday, I will build another, and it will put this one to shame.

Push the green cart up to the top, climb in through the playhouse, and off you go! Successfully held adults for the first few months until mother nature took its toll. Built by my dad and I in the summer after 4th grade
